Business Days

Count business days between two dates with Saturday–Sunday, Friday–Saturday or custom weekends, and holidays you add yourself.

How it works

A business day is any day that isn't in your weekend and isn't a holiday you've added. Choose Saturday–Sunday, Friday–Saturday, Sunday only, Friday only, no weekend, or any custom set of days.

Public holidays are not included unless you add them. Time doesn't use a holiday database, because public holidays differ by country, region, company and year — add yours as dates. Holidays that fall on a weekend aren't subtracted twice.

Both the start and end dates are counted by default; turn off Count the end date to exclude it.

Worked example

  • October 2026 (1–31, both counted) has 22 business days with a Saturday–Sunday weekend.
  • With a Friday–Saturday weekend: 21.
  • Adding two holidays that fall on weekdays (2 and 20 October): 20.

Edge cases handled

  • Friday–Saturday and Sunday-only weekends.
  • Custom weekends (any one to six days of the week).
  • Holidays on weekends aren't double-counted.
  • Reversed date ranges.
  • Long ranges are counted arithmetically by whole weeks, so they're fast and exact.
